G;day,
wonderin if any of you's have installed larger calipers onto the S12 struts?? I know that swapping to S13 coilover front end would make it easier, but i am wondering what upgrades i can do in the meantime with my stock struts.
Do Z31 300zx's or R31 Skyline's have larger calipers??? i aint talkin anything crazy like 4 pots or nothin, just maybe want larger calipers and i'll slot the rotors.
any ideas??
catch yas..

S12 front brake upgrades
This thread was saved without dates. "Around Jun 2005" is estimated from neighbouring threads.
I didn't do the conversion, but I do have original front struts and my engineer's certificate says that the front brakes are from a skyline. No idea what year model though. Its probably worth your while at least seeing if the R31 brakes will fit.
Hey.. I have an r30 out front i will check the calipers against my s12 and let you know if they will go or not.
I'm pretty sure that it's R31 brakes that are a bolt on upgrade. Our bluebird i'm pretty sure has R31 calipers and rotors out front. Same dia as S12 (250mm) but thicker. Thats from memory and i didn't do the conversion but if you can't find out what will go i might be able to.
What model bluebird? 910 or u13. actually both use completely different pads to the r31. the s12 uses an early jap caliper not an aussie Girlock style like the 910 does. the u13 however uses a later Jap caliper that is the same as the a32 maxima and also similar to the s13 2.0l
you should be able to find a pair of Outlaw calipers that will fit

I was talking about a 910, the type of caliper on a 910 doesn't matter but i think the bolt spacing on the 910 is the same as the R31 and the S12. Having said that if the engineer will pass the car with stock S12 brakes they aren't a bad thing. The R31 brakes will be an upgrade in rotor thickness only. As far as i know for anything bigger than 250mm you will need adaptors or a strut swap.
I have R31 brakes on the front of my Series 2 Bluebird (910) & they're bigger than the S12's & have cooling ribs. I'm using EBC Green Stuff pads in them & they work very well (the rears work too well on occasion & lock up). The R31/910 & S12 struts are different also so you may have to swap the whole strut. Here's an article on the R31 to 910 swap - http://forum.910bluebird.com/index.php?showtopic=423 if that helps.
You're better off changing the whole setup to S13 though as you can go for better brakes (late model 180SX Type-X on my S12) & coilovers (or even just upgraded stock S13's). It's not a bolt up swap but close.

Ok so you want aftermarket....check out these rotors.... But having said that i can get you all slotted rotors from RDA if you all need......(just not drilled)
