Looking for parts i came across a short throw shifter for the Stanza ('86-'89) would it be possible to use that shifter in our S12's seeing how they have the same CA20E engine but do they have the same tranny??? Help plz!!!!

the stanzas got the silver top ca20e's did they not?

I think those got the C tranny.

if your S12 has the C tranny then you're good to go. if it's the black top, then its a b tranny and you get to source one for a 280zx

or just chop yours.

Yup mines silver top!!! Thanks! You know what sucks why make parts for a STANZA and not a 200SX! who knows? lol Thanks!

stanza is front wheel drive so it probably will not work

Shit that blew right past me hmmm i gotta check out my friends stanza and remove the center console thingly compare the two thanks for shouting that out!!!

the stanza will most likely have some sort of linkage.... unless it was like my altima where the shifter went directly into the transmission..

i remember seeing the article on here ill look for it on cutting the shifter down. thanks... Like what Indy said "chop it down"

you can also try flipping the little bushing on the lower end of the shifter. all you do is pull the 2 halves out and flip them around

hey...why don't any of us do this in addition to cutting down the shifter?

I mean it's not too hard right...just need to cut it...and then weld it.

the only real tricky part is cutting the angle at the right place(or else it'll be like pointed away from you or something...)

hell.you could have it on the side and it could be closer to the steering wheel even...

I'm glad that idea came up after I cut and re-welded my shifter...
