Okay, so I was working inside installing my head unit and shit...the passenger side of the car is like flooded.
there's water and I dunno where it's coming from.
what drains through there? I need help. I think the answer was on the old forum..but I don't remember what it was.

Remove your sill cover, lift the edge of your carpet and put a flashlight under your footwell. If you see light (you have a hole in your floor....just kidding) There is a rubber plug in the middle of the floor that sometimes pops out from snow, ice or bottoming out. If its out just push it back in. happened on my car today. hope that helps.
Probly the heater core has cracked...is the water a touch green?
it seems a little bit greenish...but it's really dark and the water is pretty dark. I didn't notice any smell of coolant tho.
and my coolant is pretty dark too tho.
damn...if it IS the heatercore...Imma be ****ed.
heater core i had this happen and what a bitch to chage the heater core out...

yes....im sorry...
What's wrong with taking apart the dash ? ;)
I take interiors apart all the time ...
perhaps arro could tell you how to get the damn thing out
Sorry to hear that Indy, Heater Cores are a PITA. But don't risk overheating the motor. I would advise bypassing the Heater Core if you haven't already done so, until you get a new one.
sheiza..
will the heatercore still work if I re-route it/
and will it be okay if I just don't use heat?

Not sure what you mean by rerouting it, but if you mean bypassing it, No the Heater Core won't work anymore. And regardless if you use the heat or not, it'll still leak, but probably not as much if the temp is set to 'Cold'. This is because it's still part of the cooling system and under system pressure. It just won't leak as much when on the 'Cold' setting because the volume of coolant flowing through it is reduced to almost no flow. But at least, it's not that difficult to bypass. Should take less than 10min. If you got an FSM, There's a pretty good illustration of the cooling system.
yea, I meant bypass it.
and by not use it..I mean like have it off completely.
I have a FSM, I guess I'll try tackling this on my day off on wed...argh....so pissing.

In that case, It'll be fine. You're essentially removing a portion of the cooling system that is non-crucial to the cooling. One bit of Good News tho, The Heater Core is only about $192 from the dealer. If you know someone at the dealership, It sholuld cost ya 'bout $144. I'm getting alot of variations on the part#s, tho. So don't quote me on this. An aftermarket unit should cost ya 'bout $100.00, maybe less.
lordco here I come..lol
thanks, I'll call 2morrow to see how much it costs.
