Hi, I got a 96 1 tonner Nissan pickup recently with VG30E engine. It runs like crap on idle when hot and below 3000rpm a wheelbarrow got more torque and speed! Can anyone please tell me what the timing markings are on the crank pully. There are about six of them. Which one is TDC and what increments are they? What oil do i need to put in the engine, gearbox and diff? Also between 2500 and 3000 rpm there is a ratling sound from the motor, sounds like a very light tap on a piston from a valve. Below 2500 and above 3000 its gone.

Maybe a Fuel Injector..mine does it on all injectors kind of annoying..Check Valve Lash.
