How to wire tach on ca18det s12!!!

How the hell do I get a signal for the tach on my ca18det 88 s12, use the tach signal wire?????? I've never used an aftermarket tach before!!!! And on a unrelated not, I just bought a type R swap yee haw!!!! 4000$ canadian, complete swap throttle cable, mounts, axles etc!!!
