S14 Diff

Ok I wanna use a diff from a J30 actually LSD... Did a search, I know it was talked about b4, but cant find it...If u can find it lemme know, or just post what u think/know

Ok, can I just use the internals and stuff it into my pumpkin, no mods necessary? Do I need to do mods? Do I need the J30 output shafts, or can I use myne? If I use my output shafts, do I need to elongate em or shorten them any?

Any other input would be GREAT, I'd like to buy this LSD ASAP b4 the guys sells it, only if I can use it, without much mods cuz I dont know The diff real well...I've never messed with one b4..

I think I've said this a Gazillion times! The s12 has the older style diff, i.e. "long Nose" type. This means that not only is it longer than the later style diffs, it also has four mounting bolts to mount to the suspension crossmember, (as opposed to 2 for the later style diffs). By later style diffs I mean s13, s14,s15 and anything else that has this same casing which mounts at the front with only 2 bolts. Also the internals are not interchangeable I am told, (haven tested this myself, but all information says so). There fore forget any of these diffs as you are wasting your time.
Diffs that will fit are LSD's from Z31's and the like. Some of the ratios in these are shit, 3.54 or similar. But what you can do is just get the center and swap it into an ca18et R200 which has a much better ratio.

If the J30 is older style then I apologize to sleepns12, and am interested in more info on it. But for all you other folks talking about s14, s15 diffs etc., forget it, apples and oranges.

Okay just did a check on the J30, it appears these diffs or just centres can be swapped into a 240sx, (s13), therefore they won't fit as they are the newer style 'short nose' diff.

With the exception of the S15 HLSD, all R200 differental carriers interchange.
