can anyone tell me what this is supposed to be connected to? the fsm shows that it's supposed to go to the fuel pressure solenoid but there are 2 units in the engine bay that look similar. one has 1 inlet and 2 outlets and the other has 1 inlet and 1 outlet.

can anyone tell me which port this should connect to?? i really need this info!

Looking at the '84 FSM for 5 spd tranny CA18ET vac diagram and looking out in my engine bay, my fuel pressure regulator's vac line goes directly to a nipple on the intake manifold. It's located right below the TPS, and right below where the Pop up valve should be screwed in.
Also......for the automatic tranny CA18ET the '84 FSM shows the fuel pressure regulator vac line going to a pressure regulator solenoid valve, and from there it goes to the nipple on the intake manifold where mine is at.....it also shows that it tees off and goes to a vacuum switch somewhere near the coils as well.

damn thats wierd cause my ca18et is setup like the second part you listed...hmmm

Thats weird.....I guess they changed the setup over the years. What does your '86 FSM show?

it shows both....

Mine does too, but page EF & EC-7 is for A/T models.......EF & EC-6 is for M/T models

I know this is old, but I just found mine disconnected and just reconnected. There is a metal line that goes from near the fpr to under the intake and around the back of the engine on the Vg engine. There it comes off to another rubber hose which connects to a solonoid just below the EGR solinoid. Where mine was dissconnected was from the bottom solinoid to the intake manifold. Some jack A$$ hooked the washer fluid hose coming from the nozzles on the hood to the solinoid instead of the vacuum source off the manifold. I am not sure how the FPR is supposed to work, I am thinking that it reduces pressure with vacuum and is increases when vacuum is less or removed. If this is the case, then that would explain my crappy milage.
