Hey guys,
Cant we just drill some holes and fit s13 rear coilovers? and eliminate the spring on the control arm?

s13 Rear Coilovers in our s12's

yeah, i said this before.
You have to cut the top of the SHock Tower mount, weld a flat plate along the top, with three holes 1 1/4 inch in the middle and 2 small ones on each side, to mount the s13 coil over. Then... throw away the spring on the arm and you are set.

It also might be wise to make a strut tower bar for the sake of reinforcing the new plates.

Yeah, I was gonna say that especially since the shock tower isn't meant for holding up the whole rear end of the car. That's the only thing I'd be worried about is the strength of the shock tower...
well i realyl dont think the shock mount that is attached to the rear control arm can handle the load of a spring.. if you really look at it its not attached to the control arm that solidly... more then likely you will tear it off and moving the spring back there will change the whole characteristic of the rear suspension

I agree with Bart. You would have to fab a new mount bracket or reinforce the stock ones. They look weak as hell.
have a good look at where the shocker mounts..........it aint strong enuff for the abuse a set of coilovers will throw at it. You'd have to fab a custom bracker to the arm, and whilst you're there, add in camber adjustments!
For the little benifits of coilovers, is it really worth it? Go Z31 lowered springs and some adjustable shockers.
just my 2 cents.
Agree totally Shep.
