So am I missing some big secret on how to remove the motor mounts? I can just barely get a box wrench on the bolt at the bottom, but don't have enough to break it loose. is there some magical hole or tool that I'm missing that makes removal smooth and easy, or is it just a struggle? The damn s13 mounts had a nice cutout that made it cake.

Are you just replacing it with another stock mount? Or did you get some nice stiffer ones?

i'm actually putting s13 ones in for the ca18det......they seem to be stiffer and won't require as much messing around on the block.

I used a 1/4 inch socket wrench with a swivel attachment to remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts from each insulator. Each top one on each side is pretty easy to get to, it's the bottom one on each side thats a pain in the ass.....especially the one on the turbo side, and for me it was easier to get to the bottom one on each side from under the car with the front wheels off.

I'm actually trying to get to the main bolt under the mount. I'm also thinking about opening the mount up and filling it with urethane.

Since you have the top part of the mount off, hit the part of the mount that is sticking out (where your arrow is pointing) with a hammer in a counterclockwise direction. Worked for me.
