it will make a difference if you have cruise and if you have a digital dash.

I have an analog dash and i removed my cruise control pump.

They may be the same between the ca20, and ca18. Just to be safe if you have an analog dash, get one from an analog dash. I replaced mine with a new one from Nissan a few years ago, and it goes directly from the back of the speedo to the pinion gear on the tranny. So it doesn't matter if you have cruise or not. Only concern might be how it will screw to the pinion gear, if they used different sized ones throughout the years.
Also....you may have a bad pinion gear instead of a bad cable......might want to pick up a new one of those too.

If you get desperate you can use a cable from a 1980 toyota celica 5spd and with a little fighting it fits right in and works. The fitting at the dash cluster are a little different but with a little muscle it will go. I did this on my ca18et about three months ago with no problems (yet).
