okay, I know the front Tokico Illuminas for a 280ZX will work on the front of an S12.
but what about the rears. will the shocks for Z31 work too? the springs are the same and I've read that the design is basically the same too. if so, did Tokico make illuminas for the Z31 rears?

hey where's the best place to get Tokico springs?
way to try to hi-jack my topic buddy...
lol
yes and they rock
Are the Illuminas shocks or springs... I'm not up to speed with this company, but I have heard some good things about Tokico
the tokico illuminas are 5 way adjustable shocks
not as good as the Koni adjustables or kyb agx but hey..whatever.
but once again i take what i can get
how much did you pay for your illuminas?
front and rear? I'm looking to upgrade to illuminas too..and are they okay with the stock springs?
Where can you get a set of Tokico Illuminas shocks for the V6 200SX? Cause I would go with that and the KYB Gas A Just rear shocks, and use the Suspension Tech springs to lower it about 1inch.
Nopi online carries the illuminas about 96 bucks each. I converted the front end to s13. I've heard that you can run the 280zx spring on the s13 shock and it will fit the stock strut tower. So In my opinion I'd run illuminas all around. And the same with the ST springs. That would make suspension tunining for a novice easier.
iluminas- 84-88 300zx, 89-93 240sx
suspension techniques- 84-88300zx rear spring, 78-83 280zx front spring
s13 hub , a-1 tie rod ends
Well i have 280zx Koni strut inserts on the front of my 200sx now and I like them. So yes 280zx ones work and are pretty much identical to what is made for the S12.
The donor z31 for my VG30et swap has Tokiko Iluminas all the way around, I'm gonna put the rears on my car but since i did the s13 conversion up front i'll have them available for sale. just pm me
I got Illuminas and Tokico springs for my Z-car from shox.com, but I actually called them and talked to a salesperson instead of ordering online. By the way, for my street driven+autocrossed 280Z they work in perfect harmony, Suspension Techniques springs for the Z are a little softer. They may not even list this stuff online, but they have reasonable prices and should be able to get stuff (not as cheap as the prices mentioned from nopi though if memory serves). Unfortunately you can't just buy a 280ZX or 300ZX set of springs and use all of them on an S12, and I don't know if they would split a set for you since they don't come in pairs, but there's no harm in asking.
FYI there are some advantages (or differences, anyway) between Illuminas over standard Konis - when you make the adjustment on Illuminas, you are adjusting both compression and rebound at the same time, whereas you only control rebound on most Konis. Ideally you could adjust both independently, but this costs $$$ :-D and if you have it, you can have most Konis revalved at a Koni rebuilder, whereas I'm not so sure about the Illuminas (only people really involved in Solo or racing probably care). But, the Tokicos are a great product.
