Hey, im having a problem finding someone that can fit a 2.5" cat back exhaust to my 88 200SX se, i already have the Magnaflow muffler, with the 2.5inch inlet diameter and duel 2.5inch outlet, but ive checked every muffler shop around me no one can build it....any suggestions on what i should do? Heh if i cant find a muffler shop to build me one, ill have a brand new magnaflow muffler in the plastic still for sale! lol

What kind of muffler shops are you going to? I've never heard of a shop that can't build a simple cat back exhaust. You need to find a better muffler shop.

I had to use 2 1/4in until just past the crossmember then switched to 2 1/2in. It may have somethign to do w/ what state you live in and their exhaust placement regulations? I know some guys have just gone straight under the crossmember but thats illegal to do here. *shrugs*

I had a 3 in. turbo back exhaust put on without so much as telling them how. i just gave them the parts and they threw them and some pipes on.

I found someone that could do it, i was wondering what everyone else paid for their 2 1/2 in cat back so i know if im getting ripped off or not, thx.

uhm, my friend just paid $200 cdn for a 2 1/2 cat back (including 2 1/2 high flow cat install, not purchase) on his ca20e.

That was the cost of bending and install. A 12 foot length of pipe is like $10

$120 for my Install and I gave $60 for the Muffler.

..keep hunting...

took me 3 weeks to find a shop to do my SE. $125 install, like $110 for hi-flow conv. and like $60 for flowmaster...2.5"!

do i need to get a high flow cat before i have the catback installed or can i have the cat back installed, then save up a little more to get the high flow cat, also they just take a converter to go from my regular cat to 2 1/2 in right, or is it a must to get a cat with a 2 1/2 outlet? thx for the info

muffler = ??? don't remember the $$$
pipes & install = $40

*I later went back and had them cut the back length of pipe and rework it, that cost $10.

blaze..im not sure i 100% follow your question but...yes you can buy the cat later...no biggie there...as far as what/where....you'll buy a convertor (either direct fit, more $$..or weld in, cheaper) that is 2.5" diameter..the stock y-pipe is 2.375"..so its not really a big deal

i went and got my cat back priced out....217 dollars, i was stunned, does this sound like a rip off to anyone else but me?! He was saying it was so expensive beacuse im going to need like 6 hangers or whatever, i dont know seems a little expensive, o plus i think hes charging 20 for labor and 100 for the pipe or the other way around.
