Hi guys,
I'm trying to get at the valve cover, but there were some things I think need to remove. Pointed to by the arrows:

Particularly the stupid bolt at the bottom of the intake pipe by the turbo. It's facing down!! It's pretty dumb! How do I get at it? I can't get at it from the bottom because the wastegate(?) from the turbo is in the way!

1.) Am I missing something that I need to remove before I can remove the valve cover?
2.) How do you get at that screw so I can remove the pipe?

iv found the easiest way to remove the turbo to TB pipe is just to pull it off, un do the TB end and wiggle and pull it will come off, the upside down bolt is poo!! when pipe is off just cut a slot in the top of the threaded end, you will be able to get a flat type screw driver to tighten it up when refitting

Yes, you do need to remove the cruisecontol bit, and the intake pipe...but not the BPT valve (fartherest arrow to the left).

That screw is a bitch. What you need to do is use a 10mm wrench to lossen it enough so you can just lossen it with your hand. I think it is 10mm....

Other than that...valve cover should come off after you unscrew it.

thanks guys, I'll try that

Fark, the 10mm wrench doesn't have enough space to turn. Keeps on hitting the intake pipe... Why is that bolt upside down to begin with?!?!!?!?!?!?!!!

It's pissing me off!

I use a stubby 10mm wrench and use the closed end side with the wrench curved upward.

You can thank nissan for that one. That bracket is actually spot welded upside down.... :lame:

Hah ... to get my stock pipe off all I had to do was get the car into boost

Odds are the gasket underneath is shit anyway ... just pull.

I found grabbing it down by the turbo and just pulling sharply got it off. Just make sure you check where exactly your hand will fly when it comes loose ... these frigging cars are sharp and pointy!!!!

Don't you just love how Nissan makes us constanly undo a bolt or nut blindly, at a horrible angle that leaves your forearms burning and cramped?

sometimes I wish i had a honda just for all the extra engine bay space....working on my friend's integra is SO fun because I can use BOTH hands to get to ANYTHING in there..ahha.

but the Turbo has less room than the non-turbo, so I shouldn't complain..haha

Ever try to do underdash wiring on a CRX?

Some very small child slave labor hands must have been used during assembly

One of the best things ive done to my car was get rid of that sodding turbo pipe and orange gasket!

Yeah, no kidding. I've had to remove my turbo TWICE and I bet the guy who designed this car is laughing his ass off. It doesn't pay to have big whiteboy meathook hands when working on the things. I'm 6'8 and weigh 235lbs so you can imagine the fun I have with japanese cars. I cut off that clamp and replaced it with a heavy duty hose clamp(not the cheap ones) and it made my life a lot easier.
