Hi,
I am new to this site. I am from Berlin, Germany. I am so happy, that I found a forum for S12s. I drive a 1987 Nissan Silvia 1.8 Turbo.
My Turbo is pretty worn out. So if I read correctly I can buy a turbo from a S13 and bolt it right on and even get more hp, right? I don't need to do any modification, correct?
Does the turbomanifold from the S13 fit too?
Thanx for your help.
Phil
T25 vs T2 differences

The S13 manifold does not fit. You can use the turbo though.
well minor detail is needed to get the s13 turbo to work this entais yo to make a new flange for the inlet of the compressor housing in order to use your stock intake piping
Hi,
so what works do I need to do to make the turbo fit? I thought it was a direct bolt on solution? What do I have to do?
Thanx
Phil

just make a new intake flange for the compressor inlet so youcan use your stock inlet pipe
Hi,
does anyone of you have a T25 mounted? Can you show me a picture of the mods you did to the flange? I am not too experienced with this kind of detail.
Thank you.
Phil
No modification to the flange is needed. It bolt on the only thing you'll have to make up is the oil return line.

thats only if you have the little angle piece that attaches to the compressor inlet, but if you dont you need a custom piece...
Hi,
that doesn't sound too complicated. But does anyone have a picture of the angle piece I have to make? That would help a lot. PLease email it too: [email removed] Thank you.
What turbos do you have installed? How much pressure do you guys use?
Thanks for your help
Phil
Ok, first off, this sticky is not here for conversation
Now, because I had to make a post anyway ... :p I'll split it in a minute.
Are you sure it's the inlet you have to make? I can't say, because I don't have a T25, but are you sure it's not the OUTLET?
the inlet is on the front, and I've never seen a turbo that wasn't just straight in. And I don't know why you'd need an adapter, or would want to use the stock piping.
I think, odds are, you need a J pipe, if it doesn't come with the turbo.
this is from a different turbo, but same idea

this bolts to the outlet side of the turbo. That pipe is the one that should run to your intercooler, then to the throttle body.
The stock T2 has a cast outlet on the snail, so it doesn't need a J pipe at all.
Here's a TDO5H, which uses a J pipe, you can see where it would bolt in at the top of the image.

yes its the inlet cause its a flat face.. theres no nipple like the one you pictured of the td turbo or like we have on the stock t2 that has our intake pipe slide onto it
Ahhh ... gotcha.
How does the S13 inlet work? Is it a metal pipe that bolts on? You could just cut the flange off it and clamp a rubber hose over it right?
you should be able to use the stock piece if you you get it when you get the turbo but mine didnt have one so i had to make my own
If youre going to fit an s13 t25... get the s13 down pipe, and also get the s13 compressor outlet pipe ( the bit that comes off the end of the compressor side of the turbo to the throttle body... )
and get an FMIC one installed... a volvo turbo FMIC sohuldent cost you more than €30-€40
goto a custom exhaust place, and get them to make you up some piping ( €100 ? ish )
then seal it up with sections of boost hose and jubilee clips ( or buy little samco sections ) say you'll need about 4....
one on the turbo to the first bit of pipe
one on the pipe to the intercooler
one on the intercooler to the cold side pope
and one on the pipe to the throttle body.
advantage of using the exhaust piping... you can always remove it, and get it polished up/painted at a later date to look bling bling :D :mike:
not for a t25 off an s13. the compressor inlet is a nipple. stock inlet slips right on. the compressor outlet is a 3 bolt flange. get the downpipe if you get this turbo as it's a 5 bolt design and probably not available in north america.
