Won't rev past 2000 rpm?

Sudden the car won't rev past 2000 rpm ... the fuel just cuts off at that point. What could be the problem? There are no fault lights on. And the engine was running perfectly fine, albeit with a leak in the exhaust manifold ...

usually when it's something like this it's one of the coils..but the problem is usually at 4000rpm...not 2000...

If the MAF isn't connected or it totally fails the ecu will go into limp mode and you can only rev to about 2000 rpm if this occurs. I would check into that.

sounds like the same thing that happened to my 200. It was the mass airflow sensor. It just kept cutting out at 2000. That would be the first thing I would check.
