Does anyone know where i can buy the 8mm screws that screw into the timing belt cover? i need them asap.
Or maybe i can get the 8mm screws from ace but, they have a rubber type of washer i guess to prevent oil leakage. where would i be able to get that? i dont know what thats even called.
Plz help, Tony.
Timing Cover SCREWS!!
This thread was saved without dates. "Around Sep 2004" is estimated from neighbouring threads.
I got some stainless 8mm or 10mm(can't remember which)bolts from ACE, and used in conjunction with those rubber washer things. Works and looks better than the stock screws.
As far as finding those washer things.....junkyard, or dealer would be the best bet. Let me know if you need the part numbers.....i'll look them up for you.
thnxs alot kieth.
I guess ill just buy the screws from Ace. i'll still need the rubber washer's though. Do they sell those at Ace? or will i need to order them from Nissan? If you get me the Part Number it will be really appreciated.
Thnxs, Tony.
Alright......here's the part numbers
rubber washer: 13524-D0112 $1.52 ea. through nismoparts.com
Bolt: 10/83-01/85: 13505-D0100 $1.22 ea. through nismoparts.com
01/85-on: 13505-D0101 $1.32 ea. through nismoparts.com
Actually I think you need these bolts for the rubber washer to sit on.....only about 1/4 of these bolts are threaded.....and smaller dia. than the rest of the bolt that the rubber washer sits on.
Also, the rubber washer has a metal insert for strenght, so just using a rubber bushing might not work.
Sorry....I got mixed up.....I was thinking of the valve cover bolts. Those were the ones I got from ACE. The timing cover ones I got through my local Nissan dealer.
I dont get it.
My title says my car is an 86. my door says 85. how do i kow which year to order parts for my car when the door says one year and the title says another?
Production dates are always older than the date the dealership goes by etc. The production date is stamped on the tag on the door. For example my 1985 200sx Turbo was built 11/84. This is the date you need to go by for parts purposes.
which would that be? ive ordered everything for an 86...! and thats what it says on my title.
At the dealer they will ask you the production date for certain parts when it's needed. Most parts though they just go by model year.
My '95 Maxima is really weird....it's production date is June of '94...but it's the new '95 generation 4 body style.
As far as these timing cover screws, I have no idea if the different part numbers mean their different sizes or thread pitch or what.
