hey guys,

im having the hardest time with this damn screw. its the crankshaft pulley screw.. i took off everything else but in order to change the water pump i have to remove the crank shaft pulley middle 14 mm screw so taht i can remove the timing belt cover.

it keeps stripping, i have tried vice grips, 14mm socket with a pipe at the end of the socket wrench for better torque. nothing is working. plz some one help me...

How Can I Remove The Dipstick?

impact wrench is the best and easiest way to remove it

The Crankshaft Pulley Screw is completely stripped, an impact wrench will do no good. i even got the torch out and heated the damn screw, nuttin... :(

Can this damn screw be taken out? im running out of options and this water pump is looking impossible to install. im thinking about taking it to a mechanic and let him deal with that stripped screw as a last resort.

How much will it run me to have a mechanic change the water pump for me?I have the water pump on me.

most places around here will only do it with their parts.. i found this out when i was havin trouble with my balljoint install...

if it's stripped you're ****ed. I was going to suggest using a breaker bar lean it against the ground then use the starter. But if it's stripped it isn't going to work. You might want to try either way otherwise you will have to drill it out and retap it.

Is there any place we can buy this screw from? any store preferably? ill let the mechanic deal with taking out that screw.

ok put a 14mm nut on the end of it weld on the inside. so you make it strong and then put a impact on it don't use a break bar thats how i broke mine off inside the crank.
