Hey every one, I'm getting ready to have my engine rebuilt but I need to get the parts togather first.
I know I can get the re-ring kit from IPP EKD11TR for $179.00 plus the upgrated bearings and oil pump. I've also heard that NAPA sells a kit for the head, I can't find it on the website but I'm going to call them in a few. Does any one have a part # for this kit?
Also, from what I can see I still don't have a timing kit (tensioner, belt etc) am I going to have to go to Nissan for these parts?
So, with all the above mentioned parts in hand what else am I going to need to buy to make this engine as fresh as possible? I've discussed a 3 angle comp valve job with my mechanic and I can get that done for ~$250 so I think I'm going to go for that.
Any way, thanks for the info in advance.

get toga main and rod bearings as well as there oil pump.. also get all new crank seals, cam seals, and if you plan on doing a 3angle valve job it wont do much if the head isnt ported
you should be able to get the timing belt and timing belt tensioner at any auto parts store such as autozone, advance auto, napa, carquest.. etc.
i got the ones for my SE at autozone and paid like $15 for the belt and like $25-30 for the tensioner (those prices may be off,.. its been a little while since i bought that stuff, so i cant really remember)

Alright, I'll try them for the timings stuff. This is what I have so far to order from IPP. If you see somthing I'm missing let me know.
Re-Ring Kit:
Contains complete gasket set, main bearings, rod bearings, thrust washers (if applicable) and a ring set. TOGA High Performance Main Bearings - Add $20. For Rod Bearings - Add $20 EKD11TR $179.00
Complete Gasket Set: Contains head gasket, valve cover gasket, viton valve stem seals, oil pan gasket where applicable timing gasket, rear main seal, and all other required sealing gaskets, strips and plugs. CGSD11T $99
Toga High Volume Oil pump OPD-10-HV $119
99884-8 Dual Valve Springs. Set/8 for 4 Cyl. Nissan-Datsun 4 & 6 Cyl. "L" SOHC $59
903-0102 Steel Retainers. Set/8 for 4 Cyl. Nissan-Datsun 4 & 6 Cyl. "L" SOHC $25
I'm kinda iffy on the springs and retainers, it says "Nissan-Datsun 4 & 6Cyl. (So it sounds like what I need) 'L'" Does the L mean L series engines? I don't think so but I thought I'd better ask.
Ps: Plan on porting and polishing the head to. I'm not trying to run alot of boost right off the bat, but I'm interested in an FMIC and a T25 later on so I might as well lay the ground work now.
Yeah those valve springs are for the L series engines and won't work.

Damn, thats what I was afraid of. Any one know of a place that sells springs, retainers, stems, seals, etc for the CA18ET? Or of some designed for another application that will work?
