obviously i have a blown head gasket. i was jus curious to if anyone on here has experienced this problem and how they went about fixing it. its become a real pain in my arse and i am about to jerk the engine out to fix it. any imput would be a help

you can do it with the motor in the car saves alot of work that way

oh and what motor do you bave

im sitting on a ca20e. and how do u do top dead center. do u jus turn the pully on the crank shaft???

First of all, you dont kneed to as long as you dont turn over the motor when the head is off. Second, what blew, if blew from the water to the oil, then its a bit more involved because the coolant turns the oil into sludge, if it blew from the water into the cylinder then its a bit better, best case, it blew between the cylinders, I had it happen once, all ya got to do is swap 'em out.

ru talking about the gasket being blown inbetween the cylanders? i am almost there. i cant get the friggen intake off so i am going to jus take the head off and the intake should come off wit it right? i was going to c what i had to do wit the intake once i got it all off.

How did you tell you had a blown head gasket? One thing I've learned over the years is that nothing is obvious. I've done several head gaskets and they all sucked, just letting you know what kind of work your getting yourself into. I hope for your sake your either are a mechanic or know one who will work for beer because this is a very labour intensive project. I wish you the best of luck.

Well a very large tell tail sign is all that white smoke coming out of the tail pipe.
