Ok, my friend was once helping me test my s12 a while back and thought my secondary coil was bad... anyway, I decided to test it the other day... so I pulled the wire from the distributor, took a screwdriver and put the tip in the wire end, and held it near the shock tower mount in the engine bay... sparked nice... tried it with the secondary coil, and SHOCK THE HELL outta myself... doing the same thing... dropped the screwdriver/coil wire... it was still sparking to the chassis just like the first coil did, but the second one shocked me... that normal?? Was I just too close to something on the car and grounded myself (or didn't however it might be?).
Thanks in advance... was just curious. With my original set of coil wires, I barely touched them once when the car was running and got a nice jolt... telling me the coil wires were bad... the secondary coil wire cap on the distributor is a touch worn on the one side (has a minor hole in the boot from wear) but the wires seem ok... was just curious.
Anyone know a good set of performance wires you can get for the CA 8 plug? Like an 8mm setup like they have for the Z31s?
Question about coils & spark...

might have grounded yourself, or it could be that the secondary sparks a bit more intense since the only reason for the extra set of spark plugs is emissions
magnecor makes wires for us. I have a set along with SS blaster coils
NGK makes a nice wire kit, I got mine fro about $32 from www.sparkplugs.com Jacobs Electronics also makes a nice set for about $85...which have ceramic boots, and are 8.5mm.....I've used both and both seem very good....along with MSD Blaster SS coils
What does everyone recommend for spark plugs?? I've currently just got Denso coppers... but wanted to upgrade to something nice with the NGK plug wires if I buy them... any suggestions?

I have iridiums in my car right now the BCPR6EIX-11's
I have iridiums in my car right now the BCPR6EIX-11's
Like them? Worth the extra change to get?
The NGK iridiums are great plugs. I have them in my 85 turbo and couldn't be happier.
yea they're doing good I have about 1500 miles on them now. I should probably pull them to see how the engines doing. But the car runs good. I did too much at same time to tell how much they did. But I'd buy them again
Yeah I installed the NGK IX's with my new ca18. They got a little dirty after about 500 miles on the new motor and the engine started smelling rich....but I think that was due to all the assy. lube the remanufacturer used. I just cleaned them all...so we'll see how they do in another 500 miles. Here's a pic before cleaning. All 8 looked like this along with the 500 mile Bosch o2 sensor, which I also just replaced with a ngk unit.

I have Denso Iridiums in my '95 Maxima, and they have about 15,000 miles on them now. I pulled one a few weeks ago to see how it looked, and to my surprise it was perfectly clean....almost new looking!!
Defenitly worth the extra $$ just for the fact that they last so much longer, and you don't have to replace them as often.....and thats a good thing, especially on the ca18.....what a pain in the arse!!!
