Having a minor hiccup with my CA18ETi... I've got things setup, and I've been trying to lean out the fuel curve a little here and there, but I've got it a little richer near idle, its about 30-40% out up at the top (using an Apexi SAFC2LE w/ CA18DET T25 & 370cc DET injectors w/ Z32 MAF) and its still reading 10-11 a/f... anyway, my question is, it seems to be "ok" before 3krpms, and seems to be ok after it (if I'm already there and don't pass through 3k) but if I drive through 3krpms, the car seems to surge with some additional power... Turbo is already at full boost by 2-2.5krpms so its not the turbo spooling, and it does it if I'm just running at moderate throttle or little to no throttle... is it my detonation sensor causing the ECU to hiccup? I don't think the engine is detonating, but I think the sensor wire might be frayed, giving weird readings... =(
Also... the car idles better before it reaches operating temperature. Pre-Op temp it idles ~1150, and has an a/f of 14-15 at idle... Post-Op temp, it tends to surge a little, kinda like a loping cam, and the a/f is all over the map, 12-16 and back and forth... =( no matter how I set the a/f at idle, I can't get it to stop the surge. If I blip the throttle, it will slowly settle at a constant rpm, but hten once it finally reaches idle, it starts surging again... =( Thoughts? Bad temp sensor? ECU attempting to adjust fuel curve incorrectly at warm temp? What am I missing... =(
Thanks,
Getting a surge in engine response ~3k rpms

Mine's not exactly the same as yours but I do have some problems. My idle surges once in a while. But my idle is much better when warm the cold (bad air reg). When my car is cold it'll run kinda sluggish and will hesitate a little when boost comes on when it's 5 psi it goes away. My idle A/F usually ranges from 14.7 dropping sometimes to 16.
i try to keep off the boost when it's cold. But whenever I do get on it whether cold or hot. Sometimes it'll go super rich (like 8.0 on my A/F gauge) and will stay there unless you go real high into revs. Sometimes it'll do this and sometimes it won't.
Eh... i just to get some more of this stuff fixed
i don't really know what to say about your problem. Do you have a manual or electronic boost controller?
