G'day ppl,

just wondering what colours the S12 dashboards came in. So far i only seen the brown-tan dash with a brown backed guage cluster............ i was wondering what other colours the guage clusters came in, as when my carbon fibre dash is made, i dont wanna put the ugly brown backed guage cluster back in, i want a better colour...along with the switches.

pics would be best ppl, so links to cardomain sites, interior snapshots, etc would be awsome, thanks.

Thanks ;) Yeah, got rid of that thing. I'm gonna get one of those rechargable air cleaners.

You should see my BRAND NEW door panels I bought. No more ripped up door panels for me.... :evillaug:

I was only kidding.....atleast it was only 1 x-mas tree instead of about 20 hanging around the mirror like some cars I see out on the road.
Where did you find the new door panels? That Nissan oem surplus place? Thats the only place I've seen them. I thought about getting a new pair of front seats, but they only have the drivers side.

Mine is blue with a black gage cluster. I am in the process of dyeing it black. It is the only blue thing in my car, I dyed everything else. I still have the blue seats but I bought some black seat covers to hold me over untill I can afford some nice racing buckets.

I'm planning on changing my Dash too, how do you change it and what materials will I need?

Shep Australian delivered cars only came with 2 colour choices re interiors, in the mk1's (1983 to early 1986) :- dashboard = tan/grey top over bonebottom, or darkblue over light blue. In the mk11's (early 86 onwards, which are extremely rare in Australia,I have one here as a parts car but have only seen one other in the flesh), the dash I have is full tan/grey top and bottom, so I suspect you could also have got full one colour blue in that model, but no black, as the parts car I have is an 87 model and it had 2 tone red over black factory paint with front and rear factory spoilers etc, so if any car would have a black interior it would, but it doesn't!!.
Just remember the guys in the US that have all black dashes, are LHD so one of these dashes would be no good for our RHD cars.

I have had a few complete dashes out of cars I've had here for parts and with the dash removed, (bit of a job getting the whole dash out though!!) you can get the soft tops off and then refit them with out to much drama. So with the new vinyl dyes they have now it would be an easy matter to just colour change the top, (and even the bottom for that matter), to black, and they look really good.

to myth 12, I have heard a lot of things about the interior dye. A lot of people I know that have used it and they said just use krylon black. The exspensive dyes rub off. What I am going to do is take off my dash and take out the gage cluster and then just shoot it black. The hardest part is getting it off. I am at school right know so I will post later
