I've searched through the forum, and maybe I just missed it, but I know you can use the Suspension Technique springs from a 83 280Z in the front, and a Z31 in the rear, but how much will this lower the car? Anyone actually tried it? Thanks...

I don't have the answer.....but I am curious if they lower, lower than my Tokico's do?? Especially in the front.

I think the front would be lower with the ST springs but i'm not for certain. I too have the tokico springs all around and I wish the front was a little bit lower.

Yeah.....thats how mine is with the Tokico's. The rear height is perfect, except for the -3 degree camber that's eating my tires, but the front is not as low, and could use to come down another inch or 2.

Check ou tmy cardomain site... "sonictooth" (theres a pic on it). Its hard to actually answer in inches. Please remember though I have VG and results on CA's may vary.

That's what I was wondering since 280Z's had a big heavy 6 instead of the 4. I don't think that the VG30 is too much heavier than than the CA though...

Thanks for the info...

The VG30 is about 95lbs. heavier than the CA18ET. The CA20 is lighter than the CA18.

WOW! That's a lot heavier than I expected. I remember reading an article a while back about how Nissan touted the VG30 as being the lightest V6 available at that time, so maybe that's why I wasn't expecting it. So, I'm guessing if I want to lower the front with the ST springs, I'm gonna have to get out the cutting wheel...

I like the way Pavement's car sits, looks just right to me. Not too low (rice boy style), but it definetly gets rid of most of the ugly fenderwell gap...

I know the VG is heavier than the CA's but my engine bay has been gutted pretty good. I have probably lost the difference in weight? or close to it? I don't know... some one w/ a CA is just goign to have to try it out. I can say that this lowers my car as much as the S13 conversions I've seen on here. *shrugs* add this probably cost me alot less than what those guys have spent.

Oh, if you do this and wish to use a lower offset (20mm instead of 35mm) you do need to reduce the tire size. When turning lock to lock the 205/60-15's come too close to the fender walls. I actually wore a hole in one of my wheel well guards. 205/55-15 should be fine.
