gauges

hey im not much of a electronic person. just one question. how do we install gauges such as oil, fuel pressure etc.

Ok, oil pressure...

There are two styles here, electronic, or manual. for the electronic you need to tap a hole in the block, screw in the sensor that monitors the readings, and run either one or two wires (depending on the manufacturer) back to the passenger area. Then you hook up your ground, those two wires, and a switched positive to your guage, and voila...If you have a mechanical, then a tube will run from the hole you tapped, and go to your guage in the passenger area, then you will need to hook up a ground, that tube, and a switched positive lead to the guage...

Temperature...

This is almost the same thing, except you are tapping your coolant line instead of your block, and there are now manual guages, they are all electronic.

Tach...

Here you are taking the green wire, and running it to the main coil (has three wires not two) and the section where the coil is two of those three will be together, and one will be close but alone. The two that are attached, follow back, and you will see a connector, that is the one you want to tap, attach the green. You will now have three wires left, Black, which is your ground. Red which connects to a permanent positive, and white which connects to a switched positive.

Boost meter...

Volt meter

Black goes to ground, Red goes to positive switched, and white goes to positive switched as well...sometimes there are only two wires, then Black ground, and Red positive switched...the extra white wire is just to turn on the light inside...
