ooookay..
so I finally got my throttle body off of mimms(R.I.P. Alex's "200RD")
it's a ka24e TB but I'm a lil confused as to where to hoses are supposed to go..
looking from the headlight toward the back of the car...on the stock TB there is a hose going in on the left side which is coolant...and then about an inch away there are two more hoses...*they look like vacuum lines)...
but on my ka24e..there's only one...on the bottom. I know the two on the top are supposed to be for coolant but I won't be using those...
so yea...what do I do? just plug in the coolant line into the first hole I described and then plug up the two "vacuum" lines?
edit: my car has cruise control but the TB doesn't...it doesn't really matter to me...are those two "vacuum" lines for the cruise control solenoid?
60mm Throttle body...

just get a T connector..
sure this pic is on my VG.. but the same concept
i'm still unsure where those two smaller lines plug into...
and where does the coolant line go?
if it's like the VG then the coolant line goes to the valve on the bottom left(passenger side) of the ka24e throttle body right? then where does the T-connected smaller lines hook up to?
or is it hooked up to the TPS...that's what it looks like in the picture
Two smaller lines??? I only have one from the car that connects to the TB, and only one place for a vaccum line to connect...Here is a scan of my 60mm, and as you can see there is one vaccum line. If you have two from the car, T them together, and off the third portion, run that line to the TB...
The bottom picture is the way that you will see your TB from the front of the car...
Also it is easy to by pass the TB coolant lines, black re-inforced fuel tubing will do the trick...

ok.. here is a pic of the throttle body vacuum lines.. my VG one had 2 originally but the KA only had 1.. so this is what you do find the first vacuum line (labeled 1) and get a T connetor and connect it with the second vacuum line (labeled 2) and then from there.. get the one hose and run it to the throttle body (labeled 3)
with the coolant lines, if you want to just not use them on the TB, then find both hoses, get rid of 1, and just connect the other one to where that 1 hose you took off was (that might be a lil confusing so let me know if you dont get it)
Indy, if you want call my cell I'll walk ya thru, what ya need to do, but heres a quick overview.
the two coolant lines can be connected so u by pass the TB, (why do ya want hot coolant going thru the TB!?) and in order to connect the two, you'll need a fitting with two male ends, mine was a litte brass thing, cant remeber what there called. then the only line u need connect to the TB is the small Vacume line, its the same small van line from the Stock TB, then transfer your TPS over, bolt-er all in and your good to go, but again like I said, dont hesitate to call me!
ALex
Wait a second, even with the 60mm TB, you still used the factory stock TPS??
i dont know about on the CA's.. but on the VG.. the stock TPS only has a place for one connection.. but the KA an extra connector that comes off of it..
alex helped me with figuring out what's going on ehhe
thanks man
so I just gotta go get a connector and some hose this week and the TB will be going in on the weekend.

Oh, ok, because I had mine running with the 60mm for a little bit, but I guess the VG is a bit different setup...had me worried for a bit there. 8)

Hey no problem...also your stock intake piping is WAY too small to fit the 60mm...trust me...just a warning before you get the car apart, and then find this out...8)
ahhaah no worries
mimms sent me his old piping. he put a bigger one on the end so it fits
heh
and um...yea...are you saying the ca20e tps won't work? because mimms didn't send me a tps with the unit so I assumed I could use my ca20e tps
Ok, for reference here is a picture of the KA TB with the connections labeled...

To connect up the coolant lines just get a barbed fitting which they sell at any auto parts store in the thermostat and rad. cap section, and instead of hooking the lines to the tb, just simply put the barbed fitting in between.
As far as hooking up your cruise control....just take the linkage off of your old tb, and put it on the KA.....this is what I had to do on mine.....and it works fine....and is a direct swap.
Also TPS has to be brought over from your old tb......the TPS on the KA tb has 2 connectors.
yeah, Indy you uses your original TPS of your STOCK TB.
Then maybe it is a MKII thing, because my stock TB has two connections, and both are plug and play with the 60mm TB...
