my 2 door windows have lost the plastic strips that run up the side of the glass to keep it secure
is this a common problem and whats the easiest way to change them. im guessing its door card removal.

I wish I had answers for you. I have the same problem on the passenger side of my car. My 2 previous S12's did not have this problem. I'm going to have to figure it out one of these days.
If you are talking about the strips allong the back edge of the window you don't have to take the door or windows out. I put one on my old 87 i used to have. They have a curve to them when new and you just have to push it on there. Takes a lot of work thought cause they are curved to force fit.
