I've got a new Boost and Mechanical Coolant Temp gauge I want to mount right inside the cluster surround on each side (I've got digital dash that doesn't work all too well in my '84 Turbo). Well I can't figure out how to get the dash apart without breaking anything... even my buddy that runs a local Car Audio shop and has been doing car Audio since the late '90s wouldn't touch it... he was afraid he'd break it apart. =( I pulled lightly on the surround and it unclips from the back of the dash at the windshield, but I can't figure out how else it pops out/unscrews to come loose! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Can anyone tell me how to remove cluster cover? Trying to run wires for gauges

There are some screws on each side behind the red/clear plastic warning light covers by the air vents. Pop the lenses off with a small flat head screw driver to reveal the screws. Once those are out, I think it's just the pop-in clips that hold the lid on.
on the front there's a red warning lens on each side. pop these lenses off and there's a screw behind each one. unscrew these and you're in business
EDIT: damn, keith beat me to it. damn 56k. haha
:lick:
Ha!
Thanks guys, I'll take a look this evening
I hate the way they have it set up ... I mean it's great because it keeps it from rattling like every other 80s dash. But the amount of force you have to apply to get the clips to let go is scary. I was sure it was going to snap. It didn't ... but man.

Liuke the struggle trying to get my tach in...
"Nah man, just keep pulling ... it won't break"
