damn, you're in sparkle, with an fj. i just move from up there, i never knew there were any other s12 enthusiast in my area...oh well
removing intake manifold
really. huh anyways i have only had the car for a few months. where at in spartanburg did you live. i am in Boiling springs.
yeah i just painted my cam cover and i am ready to take and repaint the intake manifold and i just want to know what is the easiest way to get the damn thing off. cause with me and my dad doing it it will take a while cause there is so much shit to unhook
intake pipe first!and then the support brace/s to the block. it gives you some room to move.
you will need to disconnect:
fuel lines X2,
water cooling lines to t/b X2,
brake booster line,
EGR line (from exhaust to intake manifold if it still has it!)
cold air bypass lines (on bottom of t/b and bottom of manifold)
all wiring (injectors, throttle position sensor, temp and dizzy wiring and move it all out of the way).
vacuum lines from dizzy to manifold, and carbon canister lines.
then the 5 X 17mm nuts holding it to the head. remove it with the injectors and fuel rail/regulator attached, it much easier! you can take that off later.
mark all your lines before you remove them so you know where they go later!
you motor may have more or less parts than listed here, depends on your local market or what has been removed by previous owners!
and if you do have to remove the EGR line, dont bother trying to undo the exhaust end as they are usually stuck in real good!
have fun.
(ps if you need photos, i have an NA motor in an s12 to compare it to)
yeah post up those pics. i know i have to mark all the wires and shit. i have the shop manual so that'll help me to thanks
