i remember seeing something about this on the old forum that the maxima exhaust manifolds were similar to headers and flow a lot better than our weak exhaust manifolds.. well i'm just trying to find out if this is true and if i should go pick up a set of these for the SE while i already have the engine apart..
maxima exhaust manifolds

If I remember correctly there may be a problem with the drivers side clearing a lot of things like the steering column because they are designed for a front drive application.
I have a set available. If anyone wants them for 50.00 let me know. They are fairly light. If nothing else, they would be easy to modify since they arent cast iron. these are from an early 90s vg30e maxima.
They are vey difficult to get off a front wheel drive maxima btw. The firewall side is nearly inaccesible.

do you possibly have any pics of them??
email me and ill send a pic

How are those any better than stock? If they are less restrictive, I doubt it would be enough to justify the work involved with installing, especially if an exhaust manifold stud breaks in the head.
mostly would just be weight savings but it would also give you a chance to make a custom Y (not that that can't be done w/ stock pieces). I don't think any one is going to rush out and do this but if you have to replace them to begin w/ or you already have the manifolds off for some reason... *shrugs*
