will a VG30E just bolt right up, I mean in terms of engine mounts and such. also, will I need new tranny mounts and/or a new drive shaft, or did nissan bless us with sameness?

I'm not sure about any of the mounts or even the engine cross member. I don't think anyone has done a VG swap in where a CA was.
I'd say this....if you don't already have a VG go the route of the 4cyl.......be it CA, SR, or even FJ because of the weight you will save and the amount of work room you will not have with the VG.
