My rear window trim on my hatch is chipped at a few spots, I could order a new one from Japan for like 400$ but I dont really want too. Has anyone ever pulled this off? And had it repainted, my whole cars getting painted so it has to come off anyway. But is it bolted/screwed in, or clipped in, I'm guiessing that when I pull the inside panelling off of the hatch lid it'll be bolted.. well nutted? Any info would be great.

What i did before i got the car painted was to sand down any spots that needed it and filled the gaps with bondo. not sure if that's a good idea though but that's what i did and it looks good as new...

I know that some people have sanded the chrome of as best as possible, then they prime it, and paint is with flat black, and apparently it will last for years...8)
