K, I've done spark plugs, coil, cap, rotor, cables, fuel filter, oil change, pcv, timing, and Im STUCK.!!!
When I start the car, sometimes it idles really low and barely runs.. Give it some gas, it gets better, but not much... When its cold, but oilP's up, I'll drive it away. As soon as there's a load on the motor, its like it looses all power completely, until the turbo spools up...
When warm, at idle, if I floor it, it will rev up really slow, and sputter, but when turbo spools up a little bit, then the motor will throw the tach to 6 nice and fast. Its just so slow though till the turbo spools...
At cruising speed, it feels like I have to give it more gas then normal to make it go the same speed. And sometimes it will sputter. If Im cruising, then i floor it, the car will hesitate bad, then go a second or 2 later...
Could it be the fuel Pressure regulator or pump... anybody ever had to replace the regulator or the Vacuum control solenoid...? The solenoid seems to work properly, but maybe the regulator is stuck or something.. Please Help...
Very Slow Throttle Response...

Sorry, I didnt mean to throw that thread in the CA20 Forum.. It was an accident... I hit the wrong forum...
low idle on cold start-up is probably the air regulator stuck closed. Could be a fuel problem...
that's about all I got except the TPS or MAF, but I am not sure
Does it have a cat? It may be plugged. Or maybe some other obstruction in the exhaust. Might be something to check on anyways. But then again, Its a turbo model and it runs fine when the turbo is going, so I don't know how the plugged up exhaust would effect it.
Probably runnin really rich off boost, and is loving it when boosting. Hows the gas milage. Has it gotton worse? Should check for codes to see if the computer has picked up anything wrong.
Don't rule out the oxygen sensor as mine recently went bad on me and caused sputtering and poor running as well. A new one fixed it right up. I would recommend an NGK unit as I had a bosch one before and it didn't last very long at all only about 6,500 miles if that.
i have the same problem on my 84 200sx, but only sometimes. Also will im stopped it will idle real low and sometimes die, but it only happens some times and it will last for a while and then return to normal. I was also wondering what are some good spark plugs to put in my car.
I recommend NGK. They are what the factory used and they are very good plugs. I recommend the standard copper ones or for just a bit more you can get the V-power copper ones with the V groove center electrode. I have those on my intake side and they work very very well.
what about your clutch? (assuming 5-spd).
