Hi guys, the PCV line coming out of my valve cover is loose, I can move it up and down and side-to-side. This isn't normal is it? My valve cover seems to be covered with some oil. Is this an easy fix? Again, what parts would I need and anybody have instructions on how to do it?

Sorry, I'm an S12 newbie around here, and I'm just trying to sort my car out. I just got it on the weekend.

Here are some pics, probably would describe what I'm asking better:

Thanks again.

As far as I know thats not your PCV line. If you trace it back it goes right into your intake tube right in front of the turbo. Some guys pull that off and put a breather on it. Then they use the open hole in the intake tube to attache the other hose to their BOV. Is the metal peice attached to the actual cover whats moving? Or is it just the rubber hose? That metal part shouldnt move, and if it is then its broke. If its broke it may lose oil out onto your VC. You could try and JB weld it back together, or look for a new VC. As long as its on there though you should be ok. Even if it was gone completly your engine bay would get a little messy and you would have an awful oily smell while driving the car, but nothing else would really change.

Yup, that metal tube sticking out from the valve cover should not be moving. It's a breather that is connected into the intake piping before the turbo.

The metal part is moving where you attach the breather hose to. So, is it an easy fix? What part is it called?

Thanks!

I dont know if that was designed to be fixed. Most likely it attaches under the VC . You would need to remove the splach guard that is under it first though. If you do pull it off you will need to replace the vc gasket at the same time. Its not a big deal, but more money that you should know about. While you have the VC off you may want to adjust the valves and possibly paint the cover.
