Hey everyone who reads this... :yay!:
1987 200sx notch
Could be steering hop, needing a new power steering rack. But id like a opinion form the forum pros
Got new T/C kit, bearing are fine, breaks rotors are fine.
Problem:
Problem 1: When i take a sharp corner to the right it will be normal, then once its sharp enough i get kicked a little more with the momentum. Then i will be driving straight and my wheel that was normal aligned, is now slightly left of center. Then i switch lanes or go over a bump and it re aligns.
Problem 2: When i break hard, my car will pull to the left then i feel a light bump and the steering wheel is out of align. Then to re align it i need to go over a bump or veer right then back left and its center.
Problem 3: When i break sometimes i hear a click in the front passenger side. Also when i go over bumps i hear rattling in the same spot. Any ideas what that might be?
Thanks :)

What the hell is happening!
Ok, first off... DON'T DRIVE IT ANYMORE!
It could be a number of thing, mainly TC rod (the forward rod that connects from the chassis to the lower control arm), ball joint, and of course tie rod ends (inner and outer).
I've seen a ball joint that was about to separate do this and if that separates while driving, it would NOT be good.
I would jack the front end up so that both wheels are off the ground and grab each wheel... Try and shake it left and right, then up and down.
.... been like this for a month ... :shifty: and driving it ... :reallysad:
When i did the T/C kit i had it lifted, wheels off.. We did shake it up then down. Seemed normal.
I would recheck all bolts to everything on the front suspension, something is moving around...
Other possibilities: Rack is sliding side to side, due to bad or missing bushings... Or the rack pinion gear is very badly worn and slipping on the rack gear (not very likely, but could happen).
Ball joints, I can practically guarantee this due to personal experience. Replace them along with new LCA bushings and you should be good to go. Inexpensive fix.
I'm gonna say your ball joints have died and are about to completely let go. Lift it up and shake the wheel around. See if you can induce play between the control arm and spindle. If you can, replace them. There really shouldn't be any play between the components.
I doubt it's rack bushings. They'll cause vibrations in the steering and small left and right movements, but nothing that you'd consider a misalignment in the wheel. Check them, regardless- they're like 30 years old and made of rubber, and that's not a fun combination.
You may check what everyone else has said. Those are all good possibilities, but as an ex alignment tech, it sounds to me like the valves in the rack and pinion have gone bad. I would lean towards a new rack myself.
Ball joints. All those symptoms are individually a dead giveaway, put em all together and the whole picture is painted.
I have a similar problem with my hatch - it has new ball joints, new rack bushings, rebuilt rack, new inner and outer tie rod ends. It does however need new TC bushes as well as an alignment. I'm hoping that these fix this issue.
