Like the subject says. Now I know my kickdown switch is shorting out so sometimes it wont downshift after its already hit 4th gear.but should it really be that sluggish if I try to accelerate? Hell sometimes I just loose power if I give it to much gas. Idk if it has to do with my shity auto trans, fuel filter or sorta bad compression in two cylinders.  For all I know its a combination problem.
Any thoughts?

wtf is a kickdown switch? I would check compression timing and injectors. How does it idle?

On the automatic there's a switch that signals the trans to downshift wen u quickly push the gas.

Sounds like the auto is going bad but Oh simple fix... get a 71C trans and remove that autotragic, or you could just get it rebuilt as per the z31 guys would say they are a horrible transmission.

That automatic is horrible, I had that same issue until I changed to a 71c trans when I did that it has removed all issues when I started to drive it with manual.
Just saying as it would be a better opportunity.

When I hit 3rd gear I would want to get out the oars to row into 4th gear just to get to 50mph.

if it gets worse as you apply more throttle, sounds like it's getting too much air and not enough fuel.

Figured. Good thing I have 5 speed to swap in lol hey you still have that spare hood?

BkhaosApr 17, 2013, 2:35 pm · #9

Hey night I just swapped fuel filters so I'll let you know if the trans is still missing chromosomes or if it was the filter.

WonderingravenApr 17, 2013, 3:55 pm · #10

oddly did you ever let the engine overheating lately?

BkhaosApr 17, 2013, 4:13 pm · #11

It's over heated a few times but not lately. The filter xhange seems to help a lot but it's still a shitty trans.

night_s12Apr 17, 2013, 4:50 pm · #12

Alright ill change my filter tomorrow. Cars never overheated while in my possession

sideways_s12Apr 22, 2013, 2:20 am · #13

GET YOUR CARS RUNNING!! lol

Transmissions shift. They don't have anything to do with engine power fluctuations. Even Autos.

I promise you, it's engine related. Swap to 5 speed anyways :P
