I am wondering if anyone have used the KA oil pressure sending unit with our car. I know the S12 sending unit bolt on the KA block no problem, but I'm still curious if the ka one work with our dash.

KA oil pressure sending unit.. signal work on our cluster?
I am also curious about this. Everything on my cluster works with the KA swap except the Oil pressure. I'm not sure if it's just not hooked up because it's incompatible or because the previous owner didn't hook it up.
^have you done the swap yourself? The sending unit plug on the block just beside where you screw the oil filter. The big awkward drum shaped sending unit from the S12 use the same thread...it is something easy to check when doing your oil change. Look just in front of the passenger side engine mount.
In my case I just want to know because getting a new sending unit won't be a bad idea (oil pressure is kinda important and I don't trust a 25+y/o sensor that much) and I'll rather have the newer ones the KA use (it's just a plug, they got rid of the oil drum).
no u need s12 sending unit ka one wont work

Because the calibrationof the sensor is different or just physically? because there is nothing hard in soldering a pigtail that match the ka sensor to my harness. It's more on the pressure/ohms relation that I am worried that it could be different.
I just got a Sunpro mechanical oil psi gauge off amazon when I had my SE. Looks decent, works fine, and easy to hide. I would trust that over any 20yo gauge.
Almost all Japanese cars have 1/8BPST threads including our cars.
Yeah, I might end up buying an aftermarket gauge too. I'll start by tee'ing a pressure gauge just beside the sender and compare it to the dash reading. If it's off, I'll check the fsm of the S12 and the S14. Maybe nissan have been nice enough to put a nice voltage/pressure curve like they do with their temp sensors.
I hooked mine up to ka unit and it never read it so it got switched to a s12 unit and works..

This. The KA Oil pressure unit is a switch. Merely for the dummy light. It only senses pressure in the fact that "Yes, it's there"
haa make sense then! I really light having a gauge instead of a dummy light. I'll keep the s12 sender!
