I'm wanting know what the stock diameter is for the piping and header outlet. Anyone know? I'm sure there not different but I was curiouse. Cause I'm thinking up exhaust ideas. Really wanna rid of the Y-pipe and do a true dual side-by-side but I know that's a pain so I'm just rolling thoughts around
stock VG exhaust diameter??
That pipe is like 2 1/2 od but oblonged. Theres two things here ive been thinking about as well, u can move the tank into the trunk (via fuel cell) and run tru dual that way. Or you can F all that bs and just have the pipes come out before the back tires.....just a love of loud cars....shes already loud but u can always go louder( the only thing that im thinking might be an issue would be the o2 sensor)
Not entirely. With the o2 sensor what you could do is run the pipes from the headers towards the middle and have.them meet at a highflow cat that is 2in and 2out have the o2 sensor in the cat itself. Then you got your pipes heading out the back or sides. Or just say screw the sensor, unless u have smog and all that to deal with.
You cant just delete the O2 sensor.
Run an X pipe and have two 2" pipes come out side by side in the stock location if you want a "true dual". But to split the banks down all the way, you'd need another O2 sensor and a way to have the ECU control it.
If u have a crossing X-pipe its technically not true duels but its most likely Tue route ill have to go
Just an FYI, when properly sized single exhaust *always* makes more power than dual. If you run an X pipe with a smooth merge section it will flow almost as well as a single pipe but you'll be hauling around a whole bunch of extra weight with pipe and a second muffler. On an N/A VG the ideal pipe size is 2-1/2".
Well one of the ideas I have is to.run it with a Y-pipe like stock but split it after the axle with a 1to2 muffler. All 2.5inch of course cause I'm almost certain I'm gonna stay N/A with a mild build of cams and such
If you really want dual tips using a single in, double out muffler is absolutely the best way to do it. They are usually 2-1/2" in with dual 2" outlets for the tail pipes. Oh, and to answer one of the questions in your original post: the stock pipe size is 2". I measured a friend's a couple days ago with digital calipers.
^^ thanks.man that's what I was thinking exactly
