Oil level fluctuating?

Checked my oil level recently and it read at about 1/3 above "low" but I was flat broke at the time. So I bought some oil a few days ago since I got paid. Now it says it's completely full. I figured it was because the engine was warm so I waited and it still says full on a cold engine. Dunno what that's about. Wondered if anyone knows of a reason. (It's definitely not leak oil or anything, oil pressure is good too.)

May not have given oil enough time to drain from the heads back in to the block when you saw it the first time, engine oil should be checked on a flat surface, when the engine hasn't been run for a few hours.

Yeah, that makes sense. Guess I've got some emergency oil then! How's it going Dennis?
