she burns through almost 2 quarts a month and i dont know why. not leaking onto the ground or anything so idk, sometold me it could be the sending unit but idk.
burning oil
if it were the sending unit, it'd be on the ground. it's under neath the oil filter.
If it's not reaching the ground, and you're going through that much, it's probably burning it! If it's not a bad PCV, then your rings are shot!
if the rings are bad woulsnt it smoke out the exhaust?
Any puffs of smoke from take off, idle, wot
nope no smoke. ok this may be noob but wat is wot? never heard that before to be honest
Wide Open Throttle.
If it's not leaking on the ground, the only way to lose that much oil is to be burning it.
Look at your plugs yet? Any show signs of oil fouling? Curious how many miles to burn a quart.
ugh guys please dont jinx my piston rings :/ thats the last thing i need right now in my shitty life.
ill chech some plugs today.
oh and no smoke at wot
You can also lose oil through the valve stem seals. If you have a good functioning cat you may not see the exhaust smoking.
If this helps: My ca20e burnt oil slowly. Didnt notice oil smoke at "wot" till i bypased my cat. Then evrytime i dumped my clutch in 2nd id see a puff of smoke in my mirror. When i pulled my head on ca20e the valve seals on cylinder #2 and #4 on exhust side was dirty and gunked up of oil. You can replace the valve seals while the head is on the block by pressureising the cylinder(i youtubed a how to). I got a o.h.v. valve spring compressor for 20bucks and valve seals off fleabay. Fixed my problem. I guess i got lucky it wasnt the bottom end oil ring seals. My guess is the valve seals go bad before the honeycomb oil rings?
