No interior electronics until starting/revving my car?

okay so last night i went out at night to start my car and when i opened my door, no lights turned on or anything. I thought i must have forgotten to reconnect the battery from earlier but decided to start it anyways lol.

i turn the key and i hear the fuel pump priming. the engine starts up like nothing is even wrong, though here's the catch: nothing inside works. No tach, no dash lights, no ding from having the door open, cant turn on my headlights, no brake lights, no turning lights, not a single thing works except for AC? hahaha. So i gave her a quick rev and everything turns on: my headlights come on, tach comes up to RPMs, etc.

Anybody ever experience this on their cars before???

i went to pick it up last night (got towed) and on the way home it died. So i pulled over and jump started it with my dads Mazda6 and it ran amazingly for another couple of miles, then it died again. I had to do this a couple times on the way home, this led me to believe the alternator wasn't charging so i bought a new one this morning and threw it on. It still wasnt charging and everything is still the same way it was. Voltage is still spiking and everything still flickers whenever i turn something on.

Gotta be a loose connection

Check the positive cable at the battery.  Lots of reports of electrical problems associated with the stuff hooked to the cable at the battery terminal.
