I need help. I have no power to my injectors. I did the self diagnostic on the ecu and it says a neutral saftey switch (which is ok with me)... And then it also says "start signal". I have no clue what this means and I need help asap.

What year car? My 85 did this with a bad distributer module.
BTW welcome to the club, give us some details on your car!

It's an 86 with ca20e. It's mostly all stock other than 2 1/2 full exhaust with borla muffler.

I went to napa today and they said there is an intake side distributor module and an exhaust side... 140$ a piece is crazy first of all and second I can't even find were this module thing is!!! Lol please help the more the better.

The 86 is different than my 85. The 85 has a module in the distributer. I have no idea how yours is set up and don't know that I would buy those until you know that's the problem. Do you have an FSM to troubleshoot with? Can you hear your fulel pump run?

The Fuel pump is working great and I disconnected the line from the rail and it shoots out good. I used the self diagnostic that is on the ecu. Green and red light thing. It says start signal. I'm just so confused And I need the car running very soon. Since it's been non operational I've loweredit by cutting the springs 1 coil in the rear with mustang foxbody shocks and 1 1/2 coil with s13 conversion....for now untill I can afford real lowering spring and shocks.

The 85 fsm says start signal and neutral switch are always going to show up. Wonder if your crank angle sensor (in the distributer) is bad. I know this is a common problem others have had. They usually replace the whole distributer assembly.
Curious - are you getting spark?

Mikes200sxJul 9, 2012, 7:06 pm · #8

Lots of spark I got new NGK blue wires and plugs....it starts on starting fluid. Would the distributor thing affect my injectors?

420-86notchJul 9, 2012, 7:14 pm · #9

have you checked the injector with a voltmeter? have o checked fpr?

rednucleusJul 9, 2012, 8:15 pm · #10

I believe crank angle sensor has some control of injectors (reading 85 ca18 fsm). Check what 420-86 said, good ideas - but if you had good flow where line hooks into injectors, would think the fuel pressure regulator was ok.

Ya it's got good pressure and I ran a volt meter to the injector plug and it shows 0 volts.
I'm very stumped. Been working on the car for the past two weeks and still no luck.

I would swap in a known working distributer; still think crank angle sensor is the culprit. Someone here should have one
