So lately Ive been obsessing over S12 Suspension.
No no nothings wrong with me...I tend to obsess over at LEAST something everyday. Ive heard from a number of sources that the front suspension on our cars is basically a 280z. Ive been wondering what Adjustable Tension rods stock suspension (non s13 coils) guys can do about it. I found a picture of a stock 280z tension rod next to a TTT Adj tension rod and they dont seem like ours. The holes look SLIGHTLY off.
Has anyone tried this before?

I guess there may be another option though. Today I went browsing through http://www.arizonazcar.com/ and found that...if in fact we do have close enough front suspension (and it sure looks like it in these pics) we might be able to use these few peices. Mad baller status.

Pricey items, but they could be worth it...Thoughts?

280zx Adj Tension Rods
Those Arizona Z Car pieces look to be very much worth it IMO, especially at that price. Slap on S13 balljoints and you have quality adjustable arms to go with your S13 knuckles that aren't ridiculously over-priced and over-hyped cause of the "JDM" brand.
Yeah, actually all those options look like they would work, with at the most minor modifications (if any at all)... and wow those control arms look super legit. Please post us links to the vendors that sell these, as well as any discussion threads about them.
^ I like it a lot! We need some full adjustable LCA option for our cars.
I dont know of any discussion threads about them personally, but I SWEAR that every 240z/260z/280z guy Ive ever met swear by their product line. Heres a link to their main website.

lol you're not even gonna link us to the thread?
Interested but my money is needed elsewhere as my s12 is off the road as of today :(
These are great parts but I wish there were more items like this made for the s12
The 240/260/280Z front suspension utilized tension rods that went from the control towards the rear of the car, unlike ours which go from the control arm towards the front of the car. You may be able to use the left arm on the right side and vice versa, but I don't know for sure. Also, the steering knuckle may not fit our strut housings. I'll have to make a trip to the wrecking yard and check it out. That's some really nice, QUALITY stuff.
I don't think that will matter as long as you can fit a balljoint with the same taper angle and the bolts are the same size, since they are using a single bolt that pivots inside their LCA.
Hey guys, I emailed T3. I'll be sending them my old tension rods so they compare them with what they have. This way we will know for sure what fit and what don't. They also said it wouldn't be difficult at all to make some specifically for the S12 if none of the ones they already make fit. So as soon I get off the ship I'll send mines to them.
Actually, I'm thinking it twice, if someone closer than me is willing to send a set to them that will make more sense (I'm on canada east coast and they are in california). If no one want/can send a set I'll send mine. Just PM me and I'll give the address they gave me to send the TC rods.
Taken care of ill have a set going out this week or so once we figure stuffs out.

Just got a confirmation from TechnoToyTuning.
Here's their email:
Jerome,
I have received the S12 TC Rods.
They are the exact same as the 280ZX TC rods.
So I have them in stock ready to go!
So I suggest this information get stickied somewhere. I'll ask them if they can add the 280zx tension rod in their S12 section on their website!
Looks like they've already added it. First line, second across: https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/s12
