So, today, someone pointed out that my side mirrors were different, and now I'm freakin out about it because I hate it!
Driver side:

Really? My thoughts are the driver side is a mk1 mirror, and the passenger side is the factory mk2 mirror.

My MK I is like that. I can vouch for my passenger side being original too.... Couple years back I was sitting in a parking lot and the mirror glass just fell off....

one of them is a little longer, i think the passenger side is longer to accomodate your extra distance from the mirror.

I think the previous owner of my car glued the glass back back on on the passenger side...the glass just seems to fall after time..

Omg, mine *just* did this yesterday. The damned thing just fell off by itself.
I guess its cause of the out door heat, age and cheap glue (black gummy stuff).

Cheap glue.... I wouldn't say that.... It boils down to heat cycling, and glue from the 80's.
Okay... Yeah.... Cheap, AND shitty glue.

Mine nolonger has glue. previous owner put in cheep white double sided tap. Just one little piece in the very center...

went junkyard hunting today with Maxpow and saw a white SE just like yours, and the mirrors were exactly the same. Maxpows white Se also has the same thing. im guessing its a factory thing
