My 1984 S12 has 50th Anniversary emblems on it. I was wondering, aside from the emblems, what was special about these?

What the hell is so special about the Anniversary Edition S12?
post pics of your car. lets see what makes it so special.....
Here comes the 50th AE arguments again haha.
What doesnt make it special, its an 84 ;)
Wasn't that just a random edition thrown in by US nissan dealer with left over badge from the z31 AE (which is "the" real 50th anniversary edition)?
not leftover z31 AE badges, someone posted a post a while ago of legitimate part numbers for S12 50th AE badges. It was an official option, it just wasn't special besides the badging/markings.
Yeah, there was a thread with an AE s12 in a warehouse in Japan. Iirc it had some archaic "sat nav" and leather interior... ooohh!!!
archaic direction teller is more like it. You programmed how far you had to go until the next turn, and kept repeating that procedure until your driving distance was done. Interesting idea, probably never got used.
I actually never knew how it worked. So you just cracked an egg of knowledge all over my head. BAM!
Enjoy your breakfast!
Think of it like google maps.
Go this far then turn left
Go this far then go right
Go this far and stay straight.
It's pretty much what it was, except it would flash at you when you needed to turn Unlike paper, which doesn't
its also how submarines got around.
i used to have a AE '84 gazelle actually i still have it in a back yard rotting nothing special about it other than the badge
full option... the badges nothing really its just nissans 50th AE
only jdm cars recieved the 50th ae wreath leather seats. satnav was an option on RX-G AND UP MODELS. rims were gold accented as well as a few other amenities
It isn't satnav....
The GNSS didn't have any satellites up until 1989.
^ well nissan marketed it as "SATNAV" and included some sort of directional device
Digital compass?
seishuku on 05:19:19 PM / 22-May-11Digital compass?
most likely!
So the guy asks a question and never came back? How lame!
The 50th aniversary badge comemorated the nissan auto devision 50 year of manufacture, in Australia, every nissan vehicle delivered to the out lets were all badged the same.( patrol, pulsar skyline, ur-vans s12- vanetts and all the others including the 4x4 and utilities 720 and the like) I worked for nissan from 1982- 1989 at the head dealership in Australia, Ira berk-Nissan (Importers ). There was no different modifications to any gazelle with or with out a badge ( they were all ca20 here ). The only car off the showroom floor that was slightly tricked was the GTS skyline ( they were all sequenced No and plated on the glove compartment door starting with 001and so on ) I was lucky enough to be asked to test drive the first 7 that was 001-007 they were all white, the mods were-------------!
I hope this helps.
Garry :cool2:
Ps showing my age ooPS !
No one would like to know what the modifications were, strange.
:cool2:
I'm old too - what were the mods?!?
There were no modifications, from what I understand, it was just a badge and color package for the S12.
The 50aniversary S12 Gazelles in Australia were ca20 with no modifications and were painted in the s12 standard colours , but the GTS Skylines were a different story. 2.5" exhaust, upgrade to injectors, beefed up suspension, custom mag wheels and break up grade, all were painted White with GTS bages. Engines were still 3ltr single OHC .
:cool2:
all i can say is that i love my 88 hatch
:yay!:
