Need Help Timing Belt Doing this Tonight so help would be good

ok replacing timing belt my ol one broke do to sitting well the new one has 2 white lines a skinny one and a wider 1 witch one go's to the crank and cam? i got the crank set but idk about cam i and do i have to mess with distributor? i wanna try get this done tonight so an help would be good ill take pics wit cell if that helps,Thanks

i believe the wide line went on the crank.

isnt there a timing mark on the that plate thing behind the cam shaft as well? i know it goes straight up (12 o' clock). its been years since ive done a ca20 timing belt, but i vaguely remember there being a cam timing mark as well.

yea i figured it out but just to get bad new did a compression check and didnt turn out good so i got to think of what im going todo,thanks for input

the belt will only line up one way. make sure ur pulleys are lined up correctly then match up the belt

you said it broke the timing belt. it probably bent valves.

been there, done that. not fun

well car sat 5yrs not moved so idk if they did it or when i got it and tried to turn it over it did it then the belt was old and cracked there a pic of it under my build page but if it just bent valves then i replace head but if piston bad then  most likely a swap
