lol....kind of...i mean, i have an se kit and clear corners and foglights also...but the paint looks to be in pretty close shape to mine if i havent waxed it in awhile....80s red paint needs to be waxed almost weekly if it is in any kind of sun light. The toyota ae86 red like came without clearcoat....my brother waxes his rolla almost constantly when its running. Its kind of a curse.

backwoodsbuilderNov 13, 2010, 1:07 pm · #4

yea damn paint im just going to buff it/wax it few times plan on painting anyways just coming up with a color 1st lol

i used like 3 or 4 coats of this polish called tr3. I used an orbital buffer some...but at a certain point it was leaving to much crap behind so i did a lot by hand. One day I washed my car with this stuff that I thought was car wash....turned out it was degreaser.....I spent like 30 minutes waxing/polishing the hood to get it back where it was and i ended up using like the last bit of polish i had getting the car back to where it was....it sucked. Polish is amazing stuff though....there is just a right way to use it that you have to kind of figure out just by using it.

Ok so i ran into probs..Big probs lol i put diff battery in took out the wiring for the fog lights got in car tuned key on and turned it over and it moved on me,what im thinking is it sat 5 years in the garage so the clutch is sticking to the flywheel, but no biggy ill brake it loose and if i have to put a clutch in i will well turned it over and over no fire  but hear the fuel pump turn on so ecu must be working. I pulled the cap cleaned connectors inside it but when i had friend turn over the distributor wasnt turning  thinking  then came the bad part i pulled the top timing belt cover  cantlook thinking it was broke well its isnt but was loose i had friend turn it over again and lower end spins but belt dont. I think the tensior is messed up and the belt is slipping around the crank pully so pulled everything apart and had to stop cause i need to find a way to get crank pully off bolts out but it must be stuck, gunna try and find a puller.heres some pics posted image F*&%ing rodentsposted imageposted image[img width=1024 height=768]

Well went 2day and got some parts got cap/rotor 8 plugs/timing belt/alt,fan belt  thay gave me just alt belt  glare. well i got my crank pully off after prying on it and  found out its cracked where the key way go's  so im waiting on another one of those i pulled the timing belt and see for urself at what happenedposted imageposted image this what a belt sitting 5yrs will do,when i turned it over the crank teeth took out all the teeth,im hoping no head damage was done witch i dont think it was, also pulled valve cover off posted image sprayed some marvel mystery oil on it. tomarrow have to  bolt valve cover down time it for when i get belt and  try to get spark plugs out cause there tight as f$#%  glare

is it weird i dont like mk2 notches?

tommyNov 15, 2010, 3:37 am · #15

ishh this is an interference engine... if you spinned the bottom while the cam was not spinning... you'll have to change a couple of valves for sure... just hope you'll have only two of them.... get a compression gauge and test every cylinder after you have changed the timming belt and retimed it right... My bet is you're gonna have 2 cylinder with zero pressure... but that will give you an good slap in the ass to work on the engine... or swap it up Wink

oh and bleed the clutch line... check the clutch master cyl if their is enough fluid in the tank and then get under the car on the slave cyl, turn the bleeder screw while a friend push the clutch... my guess is that it is full of air... as I have never seen a clutch "stuck" on a flywheel before... just bad clutch fork/throwout bearing/hydraulic....
backwoodsbuilderNov 15, 2010, 12:58 pm · #16

yea im gunna look for a leak down testor today and do all cylinders that will tell me and i bled the clutch still stuck it sat 5yrs in garage with out being moved, and my dad had an old chevy nova that did same thing i have to wait get front back together and put it in 4th with clutch in and pull it try an pop it loose i knew 2 people who had same prob

nm done 2day valve cover back on cruise control back  spark plugs tight as hell wont budge  so soaked with pb blaster, now just waiting to get timing belt in tomarrow then time it and hopefully get plugs out to do compression check
backwoodsbuilderNov 17, 2010, 5:43 am · #17

well got plugs out(tight as hell)  got new timing belt on and then a compression check.......well  rip  1st cyl=165psi 2nd cyl=45psi and  cyl's 3&4=125psi so either got bend valves or a piston sucked  a valve, going to pull head asap and check things out and see whats going on  if just valves then ill swap over my 84 ca20e head but if more damage then i gess a swap is goingto happen

Wow the trunk was just an undiscovered gold mine haha. And the previous owner was a lady that has owned it since it was brand new? So weird.

well spent last night an today pulling head off  and when i took it of i was Fu%$ind surprised wideeyed i thought it be a nightmare with bent valves and hole/cracked pistions but pistons had no hit marks at all and are good also can still see the factor hone markes in walls, the valves are well carboned so going to clean that up and put something in valves to see if they leak then see if any are bent or maybe there not seating idk y i got bad compression on cyl 2 of 45psi and cyl 3&4 had 120psi idk maybe bad headgasket  but plans are to wait till summer cause cold and snow is comming and cant use garage          a quick pic of block posted image
