ok its a 1984 coupe. i have replaced the coils, wires, plugs, cap, rotor. and its till wont run. this is where it gets weird. one day it will start and run fine, later in the day will start and run like crap, smoke, idel jumpimg around and eventually stall. then one day i can try to start it and it wont fire at all. come back in a few hours then it will star and ruyn like crap or run good or what ever the car wants to do. the only othere thing in the gauge isnt reading the egine temp. so i got a new coolant temp sensor for it wich i have yet to put on. i dont think thats what is causing my problem tho. i have had all kinds of 240s and ka motors but this little ca has thrown me for a loop. my plans were to put a ka in one day but i was hoping to have some fun with it the way it is.
any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
CA20E wont start/run?
CHTS is actually important for these cars to have in working order. Have you unplugged your maf to see if it idles "healthier" without it? I just did that drill after some rain hit SoCal. Try your electrical connections and check for rotted/fudged up vacuum lines.
The air regulator also causes alllllllll sorts of wonky problems.
I'd look into that little prick
are the CTS (coolant temp sensor) and the CHTS (cylinder head temp sensor) the same thing? i looked threw nissan service manual and can find nothing about it. i did replace the cts sensor today and know it will run good, but it wont cold start for anything. i have to keep kranking it and eventually will start but will rough and bad un less i hold it a 3500 rpms for a few mins to let it warm up then it runs fine. i havent tried the maf yet cuz when its been warmed up it idels just fine. + its a flapper style one and is a major pita to un plug with it installed. ill have to look up the air regulator
