So i have purchsed a service manual, and now am about to install the camshaft. I know that we have to lube it up and replace it into the head. Now from this point, do i install the cylinder head onto the bottom half of the engine? after doing so, what do i do with the rocker arms? i was reading something about having to adjust the valve clearance, and have no clue on what this is. Also, something about matching the top compression stroke of the number one piston to the firing spark on the distributor. Really confused right here. Can someone just right simple lists i have to do. not detalied, just the order in which i replace everything. Thank you so much!

um yes, put the head on, torque to spec, then put the camshaft in rocker arms go ontop iirc,, torque to spec, use lots of assembly lube, iirc blacktops you need to check valve clearances with a feeler gauge, silvertops are self adjusting hydraulic lifters.

set it it TDC, install timing belt, with it a TDC put the dizzy in with it firing on the #1 cylinder.

been awhile since ive put together a ca20 though.

with each respective cylinder on TDC, loosen the reatining nut, then turn the adjuster screw until you have .012" clearance when its warm, .008 cold, or during assembly.

OK cool thanks. Last Question (sorry for the burden). There are a few places where the hoses attach to the intake manifold and where some hoses come off the intake manifold, that i dont know exactly where they go. I know some go to the air ducts and what not, but some of the lines im not sure of. Ex. The vacuum line coming off the distributor.
