I can't seem to find arp head bolts or studs any where
I ordered some but they were for the det and only the one long one fit!
I'm one "can't find anything for your car anywhere" away from getting a 240.

You won't I tried lol. You have to order stock headstuds from nissan then send them to arp and have them made. They have to be new headstuds because the old ones are stretched out and won't be the same.

He is right. If you send an example (new) bolt to ARP, they can make a stud kit for virtually whatever you send them.

If you contact ARP they will fax you a worksheet that you can fill out with your required dimensions. You have to be good with a ruler or calipers, and know your metric threads. I did this and got just what I needed. The CA18ET has a weird setup on the bolts, so if you go this route just be as precise as you can.

So they won't take new stock headstuds instead because I'm not good at any of that lol

Oh yea, I'm sure they would match up a set, I was just in a hurry (or so I thought) been working this project for two years now!

Hahahahahaha OHHHH BURN!

Cajun1guyOct 23, 2010, 2:40 am · #9

Oh no, not for the studs!!! I was just going to do a repair, now I'm doing more of a full restoration. So a month long job has stretched out a bit. The more I read in the forum, the more I want to try, just have to draw a line in the sand and finish this thing. But the ARP folks were very helpful and I got a set in my CA18ET now along with Eurocam and T25 upgrades.

Should of went for the ipp cam its better than the euro that's what I'm gonna do when I start working on the single cam again

well, too late on that! I didn't have all the best advice in the beginning, plenty of woulda shoulda now. But it's getting there, it will be a lot more fun to drive. A lot of the car will be back to new specs other than the engine upgrades. Found lotsa goods at OEM Surplus that I never thought I'd find. fmic went in good and looks great after all the advice from Keith.

Yeah if you want clean install advice keith is def the man for that def one of the cleanest cars in the community...and the single cam is def fun I was running a bartco tubular mani with a evo3 big 16g turbo on 8 psi and was walking away from loads of cars that I never thought I would till I had a wiring issue it has something to do with the maf I think I would just like to start over with a different car and go from there...goodluck finishing up your build can't wait to see the end result. Also if you look on youtube I have some vids of the singlecam having a little fun and a very close race between myself and iggy he has a 18det and was on 12psi while I had the 18et on 8 psi

I'll def check it out. I'm shooting for a clean result like Keith, I hope someday to give him a go for sharp and clean-it won't be easy. His machine is amazing. I have had mine as long as he had his, got it back in '88 when it still smelled new. Now it has over 270k miles but still good to go. I hope to double that, maybe my 7 year old will get to drive it? naw...
