gas tank?

so i need to replace my gas tank badly and i went to pullapart and theres a hatchback with a nice clean gastank in it but i have a notch so my question is are the gas tanks the same from the notch to the hatch....o mines an mk1 and the hatch is a mk2 if that matters

i would think the MK1 and !! fuel tanks are the same...
the Notch and Hatch have the same part# so i say they would be the same.

Same as far as I can tell.

*I have both cars at my house. mk1 notch and 2 mk2 hatches.
